Abstract:
Contemporary business conditions in the mining industry require high levels of security or risk assessment and avoidance of unexpected occurrences. The consequences of an unexpected occurrence often manifest as injury of workers, termination of the technological processes in production and/or damage to material and natural resources. Steering mining machines in open pit mines is an activity in which a large number of risks and hazards at work occur and accidents are very common. In order to have a preventive effect on raising the level of safety, reducing the risk at work and protecting workers from injury and health damage as well as reducing damage to the means of labor (mining equipment) it is necessary to know the causes of accidents. This paper presents the implementation of the Ishikawa and RCA methods for the identification of all the causes of accidents at work that may lead to negative consequences and extrication of the underlying cause, towards which corrective activities are directed.
